The Wetland Discovery Centre will be closed as of November 1st for several months for much needed renovations, we have prepared this information sheet to help answer any questions you may have.

1. What are the renovations?
After 30 years in operation, the Wetland Discovery Centre needs upgrades to many of our systems. As well, this will provide the opportunity to renew all of our exhibitions! Check out this page for renewal details.
We need to remove the existing structures to make room for the new ones and we are hosting a clearance sale on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, November 17, 18 and 19 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. which will include display cases as well as office furniture.
2. Are the trails still open?
Yes, the trails remain open year-round as they are part of the Wildlife Management Area.
3. Will there be any public programs/events happening?
Limited programming, including events & workshops will continue to be offered onsite and in our new building, the Willow Retreat, located in the south end of the parking lot, as well as virtually. Bicycle and canoe rentals will also be available on select days. Any activities will be advertised on our website.
4. Are there washrooms available to use?
During events, the washrooms at the Willow Retreat will be available to use. Otherwise, there are outhouses at the Main mound.
5. Can we still book school/group programs, tours, and Dusk to Dawns?
Yes. School/youth programs are still available but will be limited to two classes per day (plus virtual or in classroom programs). For these and to discuss any programming requests (including adult tours) please contact our Bookings Coordinator.

6. What happens with my membership?
The time period we will be closed will be added to your membership. In addition, it still remains valid during our closure for special pricing. For example, if you had four months left on your annual membership when we close on November 1, 2023, your membership will remain valid during the closure and we will add those four months after our grand reopening.
7. Can we still have a birthday party or a meeting/catering at the Centre?
Unfortunately not at this time.
8. Will there be camp?
We will not be offering winter camp at this time but keep your eye out for Spring Camp to be held in our Willow Retreat.
9. Are the café and gift shop closed also during the renovation?
The café and the gift shop will both be closed during the renovation, but some gift shop items will be available via our online store. Check it out!
