Meet the Ducks Unlimited Canada Scientists
September 13 @ 11:00 am - 3:00 pm
Let’s celebrate the importance of wetlands. Meet the biologists from Ducks Unlimited Canada and learn about their fascinating research.

Matt Dyson: Evaluating the behavioural and demographic responses of waterfowl to landscape change to improve conservation delivery. Visit Matt in the Lab from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Pascal Badiou: Conducting watershed research to help create and inform sound, sustainable wetland policies that protect our water and offset the impacts of climate change. Visit Pascal on the rooftop from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Paige Kowal: Supporting quantification of wetland and grassland ecosystem services, and identifying priority areas for habitat conservation. Paige will do water sampling/water quality talk and hands-on demonstrations by the canoe ramp at 1 p.m. and 2 p.m.

Brandon Edwards: How many ducks are out there? Brandon will demonstrate how data scientists count ducks in the wild using concepts of mark-recapture and waterfowl banding (with the help from some rubber duckies) in the Wetland Discovery Centre at 1 p.m. and 2 p.m.
